Last updated: June 8, 2020

Prerequisites:

  • Access to an internet browser.

Process:

In order to use the abutter’s tool on MapGeo, you will need to navigate to any MapGeo site. To learn more about this process, watch this video!

  • Click on any property to bring up the left hand property panel. The property will not be highlighted in blue

  • Now, click on the Abutters tool in the top right hand corner of the screen.

  • Customize your abutting property distance (this will determine the maximum distance which the tool will implement to find abutting properties) and click “Find”.

  • This will bring up a list of abutting properties and it will also visually highlight in red the abutting properties.

  • You can click “Download Results” to download a spreadsheet of abutting properties, or you can adjust the abutting distance, clear the results, etc.

  • If you are interested in finding abutting properties for multiple properties, you can do this by clicking the first property, and then holding down the Command key while clicking. This will select more properties and visually highlight them in orange. To find the abutting properties, simply repeat the steps of clicking on the Abutters button, entering in a distance, and clicking “Find”

  • This will create a list of abutters for all selected properties. All abutting properties will be highlighted in red.
