Introducing the latest MapGeo Site - Decatur, Alabama!
Hi there,
We're excited to introduce the latest addition to the MapGeo family - Decatur, Alabama! Located in the very heart of the Tennessee Valley, Decatur is the largest city and county seat of Morgan County. Decatur is known for its many riverside parks and waterways. Along with being known as “The River City”, Decatur is home to Wheeler Wildlife Refuge, Rhodes Ferry Park, and the Cook Museum of Natural Science. Decatur's new MapGeo site is a great addition to a city with so much history. Decatur’s site features thematic layers that highlight various city districts (including the arts and entertainment district), new and historic aerial imagery, and displays useful property information such as floodways and interesting citywide features like bike paths and trail maps.
One distinguishing feature of Decatur’s new site is their extensive railroads layer - which includes tracks and boundaries alongside city borders. Decatur’s network of rivers and railroad bridges have made the city a hub of business and transport along the Tennessee river valley.
